Teacher Resources

NYS Grade 5 Social Studies Assessment Resources: This website was originally created at a two-day workshop sponsored by the Dutchess County BOCES Instructional Services and Model Schools programs. The resources on this webpage were compiled by a group of K-5 teachers from Dutchess County schools in the summer of 2000. See the newly added resources for 5th grade teachers created by the DCBOCES Summer 2001 Grade 5 Workgroup.

Our Hudson River Valley: A Living Environment: An interdisciplinary project developed by the BOCES Model Schools Instructional Technology division. The grant consortium includes 11 nonpublic schools and 3 public schools throughout Dutchess County. This project is funded, in part, by a Learning Technology Grant from the NY State Department of Education.

"Playin' Around": Teachers in Dutchess County, New York are "playin' around" with playground equipment, playground shapes and ideal playgrounds.

RiverView: A Glimpse of America's Past Through the Windows of Hudson Valley Estates: RiverView is the result of a 1999-2000 Learning Technology Grant awarded to Dutchess County BOCES by the NYS Education Department. Its focus is the investigation & interpretation of "Primary Documents" found at several historical sites located within the Hudson River Valley. 5th through 8th grade students from 15 non-public schools & the DCBOCES Special Education Division participated in the project. They wish to share with you all that they learned & saw by looking through the windows of those estates.

Technology Integration: A wide variety of information, helpful hints, and teacher resources created by teachers/staff developers from Dutchess County.
